APC Wellbeing week

APC Cardiovascular recently hosted a bespoke Wellbeing Week for our team, with support from our friends at Active Cheshire.

We started with a weeklong steps challenge (30th November – 6th December 2020,) with a prize of sports equipment up for grab for the most steps achieved throughout the week.

On Tuesday we were treated to an Active Chef Live Cookalong, where our team moved their laptops to the kitchens and with the help of Chef Nont Iamkamphaeng, created a delicious Thai Green Curry.

On Wednesday lunchtime, we took part in a “yoga for beginners” session, hosted by Janet Woodcock from Cheshire Yoga & Fitness.

On Thursday we took an hour out of our day to have a virtual cup of tea. There was no agenda, no work talk, just an hour to reconnect as friends, not just work colleagues. We found out what everyone’s karaoke songs were (useful to note for future work parties,) and also saw a few pets on screen too.

The week rounded off on Friday with an independent nature walk, taking one hour out before a team meeting to go for a walk and find certain objects on route, including a rock, twig and leaf. Additional finds from the team included a conker, the lid of a cooking sauce jar (for recycling purposes) and several doggy waste bags!

We encouraged people to share photos throughout their week of their walks, horse-riding, decorating, cooking, yoga, and anything else that improved their wellbeing. And we’re thrilled to see our team did just that.

We’d firstly like to thank Active Cheshire for arranging and supporting us with our Wellbeing Week.

And we’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our internal APC team, who threw themselves into the week with enthusiasm and dedication. It’s taught us the importance of taking time out to prioritise our own physical and mental wellbeing, even when we’re busy.
