The British Cardiovascular Intervention Society

On the 21st-23rd of January APCC attended the annual British Cardiovascular Intervention Society conference. Representing the company were Stephen Law-Lyons the Managing Director & Leanne Miller the Sales Executive.

We had a great conference with lots of new customer interest. We also saw many existing customers ranging from Consultants and Cath Lab Managers at the meeting, we found this pleasant as we had chance to catch up with them and maintain our relationships.

Our Xenolit®e products were seen as a strong product range., Xenolite® being a leading brand of lightweight lead aprons with many attendees trying on the different styles and commenting on how light they were.

We also took some Radpad® to the event, RadPad® is an innovative product gaining popularity as it provides a cheap way to lower radiation dose exposure. The Radpad® were drawing large crowds thanks to ‘joe glow’ a metaphorical display showing how scatter advances from the primary beam. Mr Glow (the light up manikin) travelled all the way from Holland to join us at the BCIS!

The “No brainers” were also drawing large crowds as they used in a live case at the Freeman Hospital (shown on Thursday at BCIS). We saw a huge demand for glasses at the conference, the LT100 and LT500 being the most popular choice, lightweight and  fashionable! This combined with the lowering of eye doses from the IRCP has created a huge need for eye protection.

There was some interest in the newly distributed Reocor pacing boxes, the traditional design was liked by many. Overall there was a Radiation protection awareness increase for all thanks to speakers at the conference and us being the only radiation stand. The fact we are quite well known in the market place led to a lot of interest too.
